Ok its been a while since ive updated this!! Sorry!

A combination of a broken laptop[a donation welcome :P] and the start of the busy outdoor season has led to me neglecting the blog for a while but ill do my best to get back on track.A few bullet points on whats happened since my last post-

*Kerry Juvenile T+F Title-St Brendan's
*Kerry Senior mens & womens T+F titles-St Brendan's
*Successful Schools championships with Pres Tralee winning All Ireland senior girls trophy and Mounthawk finishing in second place in the overall school title.
*Gneeveguilla,An Riocht,Estuary and St Brendan's AC Open sports were held successfully.
*Claire Fitzgearld competes for Ferrybank in European Club championships.

Yes very brief i know but it will have to do until the end of season review.

The first round of the Woodies DIY National league was held in An Riocht track Castleisland on Sunday last and was the only athletics competition in the country not washed out by the horrendous weather everywhere else in the country. Both Kerry mens and womens teams were competing in the premier division again this season with both recieving tough draws with the women up against Ferrybank AC who finished second at the recent european club championships.Competitions began at 11.30am with the hammer competitions as usual and finished ahead of schedule at 5pm with the 4x400m relays. At the end of the day the men created a small bit of history when they finished on 120points to lead their group from Leevale AC in Cork but also leading the entire competition ahead of North Down AC who won the other group in Sligo on the day.The womens team finished on a very high total of 111 points which placed them third on the day and fifth overall. Both teams now look forward to round two on July 17th in Athlone where they will be hoping to qualify for the final in August.
For the mens team wins worth nine points came from Daniel Clifford in the shot and discus,James Nagle in the hammer who had a personal best of 53.47m,Jonathan Foley in the pole vault who had a new personal best of 4.10m,Patsy O Connor in the javelin and the 4x100m relay team of Dylan Roche,Colm Lynch,Eoin O Carroll and Conal O Callaghan.Second places worth seven points went to PJ Galvin in the high jump,Niall Prendiville in the 3000m walk,Eoin O Carroll in the long jump,Ed Murphy in the 5000m and James Nagle in the 56lb weight.Six pointer went Eoghan Courtney in the 400m hurdles for our only third place finish on the day.
For the womens team wins came from Claire Fitzgearld in the javelin and discus with a new personal best of 47.30m in the latter,Caoimhe Casey in the 1500m walk and Eilish Fitzpatrick in the 100m.Second places were attained by Ailbhe Courtney in the 100m hurdles,Eilish Fitzpatrick in the 200m,Amy Phelan in the pole vault,Sheila O Donoghue in the shot who had a personal best of 10.68m and Mairead O Neill in the hammer.Third places went to Katie Rogers in the 800m and Ailbhe Courtney in the 400m hurdles.
The An Riocht mens were competing in the division one competition on the day and they finished in joint second place on the day with a total of 106 points which places them joint third place overall going into round 2.Wins on the day came from Ger Cremin in the 100m and 400m hurdles,Ciaran Mcabe in the 400m and Anthony Greaney in the 56lb weight for distance.Second places were attained by Donal O Callaghan in the 5000m,Paul Culloty in the pole vault,Shane Hand in the hammer and Anthony Greaney in the shot putt,James Doran in the 1500m and the mens 4x400m relay team.Third places went to Tim O Connor in the 800m,Stephen Cahill in the javelin.
